Refurbished Armoire

Hey everyone, just a quick a post here to show you one of the many projects I have been working on. I haven't been around much for 2 reasons. 1) This last semester was killer and I didn't get to spend much time with Elijah, so this summer has been all about us hanging out, and 2) I've had so many issues with Blogger since it changed. So frustrating!

Anyway, this is an armoire I got off of craigslist for free a while back (don't remember if I have ever showed it to you guys).

It worked for a while in the dining room, but I did some furniture rearranging and wanted to put it in my room.  I was never a huge fan of the moulding, so I gave it to a friend, and the wood color wasn't gonna work either. I painted it the same custom blue that is on other pieces in my room. I would have loved to put new moulding on, but it just wasn't in the budget, so I got 2 picture frames from Goodwill ($1 each) and nailed them to the doors. Eventually I will do something fancier, but it works for now =)  I also replaced the drawer pulls with a thick jute. It adds the perfect coastal vibe =)

Wow! What a makeover. I wouldn't have guessed it was the same armoire!

I love it! The cabinet looked great even before it was refurbished. Nothing beats the natural beauty of wood furniture! I mean, look at it, no matter what color you apply to it, it will definitely stand out!

I like the old version of it as well; the new one looks clean and fresh. I think I would have just cleaned it, remove the old paint and go with some brown matte paint to make it look sort of antique, but that also depends on the rest of the furniture.
